  1. Do I have to be an accounting major to be a member of NABA?

Of course not! NABA accepts all business majors, even engineering, as the demand for all fields is high at any firm.

  2. What are the requirements to be a member of NABA?

It's quite simple. To become a member of NABA, you must be an active student at MU and pay your national dues, $20, as well as chapter dues, $5.

However, to remain an ACTIVE member of NABA, you must attend our meetings, which are held once a month, as well as participate in monthly community service events.

Community Service

  1. Why does NABA participate in community service?

We want every member of our chapter to not only be superb students, but well-rounded individuals. Our participation in community service ensures that all our members are active in our community while making them better candidates for positions and better people.

Meetings

  1. How often does NABA meet?

NABA meets formally once a month at 6 pm for our meetings with campus recruiters.

We also meet once a month to participate in community service.

This year we will be having informal lunches and dinners with recruiters and professionals to encourage the networking of our members.

  2. What happens at a NABA meeting?

At our monthly meetings, NABA hears from recruiters from various companies, including accounting firms, industry companies, and even the FBI! They present important facts about their company and information on how to become an intern or full-time professional. Most importantly, they tell us how it would be to have a job in their field, a "day in the life".
